On June 27, 2019 the California Air Resources Board (CARB) approved new regulations establishing standards for public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. Resolution 19-17 approved for adoption new regulations addressing charging station access and payment standards, and interoperability requirements implementing statutory requirements originally adopted by the Legislature in SB 454. At the hearing, CARB staff suggested modifications based on comments received during the 45-day comment period. This week CARB issued a Notice of Availability of Modified Text proposing 15-day language further modifying the regulations. Proposed modifications include:
